Entry Level Software Engineer

Greystones Group has an opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer to support a Navy customer in the Washington D.C. area. This project is in support of process improvements to IT support tools. This candidate will support the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical software systems in support of the Department of Navy (DoN). This position will be located in the Washington D.C. area; however, if the candidate’s unique skills and experience would result in considerable value added to the customer, the position can be performed at remote locations and/or telework.

Salary range starting at $60k

Responsibilities:

• Assist with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure software solutions that meet system requirements and government specifications.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with system engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program stakeholders to integrate software into larger systems.
• Assist in developing technical documentation, including software design documents, interface control documents, and test plans.
• Support configuration management, version control, and code review processes to maintain software quality.
• Apply security-focused development practices aligned with DoD and Navy requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in software engineering in a DoD/DoN environment.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Python.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps methodologies.
• Active Secret clearance required.
