June 19, 2025 – Norfolk, VA
Greystones Group was proud to attend the NAVSEA OTA Workshop on June 18, 2025, joining the satellite session hosted at the Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge in Norfolk. This dynamic event, which was held in parallel with the main workshop at the Washington Navy Yard, brought together leaders from government and industry to explore how Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs) are transforming defense acquisition.
Featured speakers included:
Mr. Christopher Miller, SES, Executive Director, Naval Sea Systems Command.
Mr. Steve Mucklow, SES, Director of Fleet Capabilities and Force Development (N8/N9), U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
Nick Rocha, CEO of Neptune Shield, who shared insights on the value of OTAs in engaging non-traditional vendors and reducing barriers to innovation.
Neptune Shield also generously sponsored lunch, providing an excellent opportunity for informal networking and collaboration among government and industry participants.
For Greystones, the OTA model is essential to delivering fast, secure, and impactful solutions like Soleite CoPilot and SustainIQ, both developed under SBIR Phase III and currently listed as “awardable” on the CDAO Tradewinds SBIR/STTR Aisle.
Why OTAs matter:
Accelerated Fielding: OTAs bypass traditional acquisition delays and enable quicker transitions from prototype to operational use.
Expanded Innovation Base: They invite fresh thinking from non-traditional and small business partners.
Flexible Collaboration: OTAs encourage co-creation between government sponsors and solution developers with less bureaucratic friction.
Greystones applauds NAVSEA, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, and the Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge for facilitating this important dialogue. As DoD moves toward faster, more adaptive acquisition pathways, Greystones is committed to being a trusted partner in the delivery of mission-driven innovation.
