At Greystones Labs, we’re not just exploring what’s possible with AI – we’re building operationally viable, mission-ready solutions for the edge. Our research and development focuses on deploying AI/ML at scale within contested, resource-constrained, and Zero Trust environments across the DoD and federal government. Our current efforts include:

What We’re Working On
Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) AI Systems
We’re building mission-capable AI that keeps the warfighter in control. Drawing on recent work including deployed prototypes for the US Navy, we’re developing agentic AI systems that collaborate with operators, not replace them. These systems are designed to pause, request clarification, and defer to human judgment in high-consequence environments. HITL isn’t a fallback—it’s a foundational principle for human-machine teaming in the loop.
Secure Agentic Workflows
Our next-gen agentic systems go beyond chat interfaces. They reason over structured workflows, ingest and act on secure mission data, and execute repeatable processes with full traceability. Designed for integration in Zero Trust architectures, our workflows are currently being prototyped for Navy fleet maintenance, hybrid cyber operations, and multi-domain decision cycles.
AI Gateway and Vector Storage Infrastructure
We’ve developed a secure, scalable AI Gateway to serve as the foundation for model orchestration and real-time data interaction. Coupled with our vector storage and ingestion capabilities, we enable high-throughput, low-latency embedding pipelines that can handle mission-scale document ingestion from distributed and air-gapped environments. These tools underpin our RAG pipelines, Soleite architecture, and future AI-enabled C2 platforms.
Explainability and Observability
We engineer for accountability. Our platforms include explainability tooling that provides traceability from input to action. With audit-ready lineage tracking, decision tracebacks, and model observability features, commanders and analysts alike can understand why a recommendation was made, and under what conditions it should be trusted.
Tactical RAG and Decision Support
We’re evolving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for real-world decision environments, like supply chain readiness, digital twin sustainment, and cyber risk triage, where speed, precision, and trust matter. These are not generic LLM demos, they are field-oriented, vetted, and driven by real use cases.
Our work at Greystones Group is iterative, deployable, and evolving. We continuously incorporate field feedback, security constraints, and mission needs to harden and scale our AI capabilities. This is more than R&D—it’s a commitment to delivering combat-credible technology aligned with JADC2, CJADC2, and AI-enabled decision advantage across the DoD enterprise.
